A step ladder competition was held following the qualifying round to
determine the overall semi-state champions. The Center Grove boys defeated
the Portage boys with a two baker game series score of 424 to 374. The
Lake Central girls team finished victoriously after two baker game series
score of 374 to Concord's 327.

A one game step ladder was also held after individual competition to
decide overall semi-state champions. For the boys, Casey O' Banion of
Warren Central won with a score of 246 against Marty Hernandez of Munster
with a 235. With a score of 199 for the girls, Robin Buck of
Mishawaka defeated Amanda Gerber of Jasper, who rolled a 181.
